Christina Reppucci, PhD
Visiting Assistant Professor of Neuroscience

I joined the Psychology Department of Wheaton College in 2021.  With help from a team of enthusiastic undergraduate assistants (see below) and funding support from the Wheaton College MA Provost's Office, we are gearing up for research-packed summer.  We intend to investigate the role of neuropeptide signaling in the regulation of juvenile social play behavior by the ventral tegmental area.

Outside of the classroom/lab you will often find me snapping photos of flowers, or cuddling with my cats.

Neuroscience Major, Pubic Health Science Minor, Pre-Med Track

After college I hope to pursue medical school studying either neurosurgery, neurology, or obstetrics/gynecology. I love all things neuroscience but I am specifically interested in memory and how myelin/oligodendrocyte depletion affects the brain. I have been working with this lab since February 2022 and have been a part of Morris Lab at Wheaton College in past years. Next year, I will be conducting a senior honors thesis while  working in Professor Reppucci’s lab. I am also currently intern at Butler Hospital at Brown University in their research department in their Cognition, Emotion, and Life Lab. In summer 2022, I am excited to be working as a Medical Assistant at Derry Medical, back home in New Hampshire; as well as a patient rounding volunteer in the orthopedic surgical unit at Catholic Medical Hospital. Back on campus, I am a member of the flute choir and on the executive board of the Pre Health society. A fun fact about me is I love growing succulents, coffee, and cats!

Neuroscience Major, Philosophy Minor

I have been captivated by the link between music and its influence on cognition, such as changes in behavior, emotions, and memory! Recently, I expanded my interest to Multiple Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases. I am curious to see what happens at a cellular level when these diseases are present. After Wheaton, I hope to pursue a Physician Assistant Degree and work in a neurology department, or pursue a medical degree in emergency neurology!
